Thanks to the technology found in Color Shield™, this mulch provides color year round. In addition, Hyponex® by Scotts® Black Mulch creates a natural weed barrier in landscape areas by blocking their growth and access to sunlight - just place the mulch in the desired location in a 3 in. layer. Hyponex® by Scotts® Black Mulch can also help conserve moisture. When placing mulch, set it several inches from tree trunks, house foundations, and other wood structures. To optimize color, it is recommended to turn the top 1 in. of mulch every 3-4 months. This product is also available in brown and red. One 1.5 cu. ft. bag of Hyponex® by Scotts® Mulch covers 6 sq. ft. at a depth of 3 in.
